Rebrand for the Japanese music festival, which is held simultaneously in Tokyo and Osaka every summer. With the season in mind, I designed a custom font for this brand. The letterforms were made to resemble refreshing citrus fruits, warm sunrays, and music speakers.Accompanied with the deconstructed graphic elements and festive color palette, SUSO becomes a brand that truly encapsulates both the “Summer” and the “Sonic” of this unforgettable music festival.

What makes SUSO different from other music festivals is that it doesn’t take place in a deserted, rural location. Because of its urban setting, it is important to think about the attendee’s journey to the venue and where these guidance touchpoints may be.
